MARK SWARTS
PRESIDENT / CEO / FOUNDER
Mark Swarts is a Las Vegas native with more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Mark started his career with a local insurance agency before his entrepreneurial spirit got the better of him and he started Swarts & Associates in January of 1996.
Mark realized early in his career that if he wanted to be able to best serve his customers he would have to become an expert in insurance and risk management. Mark’s determination and drive to constantly learn and to provide the best experience possible for his customers resulted in steady growth for Swarts & Associates and distinguished the young agency as a dependable and trusted advisor to the business community.
Shortly after starting Swarts & Associates, Mark welcomed his close friend Justin Manning to the agency, and before long, Justin became a partner and the agency became known as Swarts Manning & Associates. Mark and Justin made an excellent team and their knowledge, ability, and dedication saw Swarts Manning & Associates grow rapidly to what it is today.
Aside from operating Swarts Manning & Associates, Mark has made it a point to be active in industry and community organizations throughout his career. Mark is proud to have been involved with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (Big I) for more than 25 years. Among other roles and distinctions, Mark has served as the President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Southern Nevada; Chairman of the Nevada Independent Insurance Agents’ Association; Member of the Board of Directors for the National Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (representing Nevada), and a member of the InsurPac Board of Trustees.
Mark’s expertise in the industry has enabled him to work with some of the most recognized businesses in Las Vegas. His devotion to serving his clients resonates throughout the entire company and is one of the main reasons Swarts Manning has become an industry leader in the Las Vegas area.
Mark and his wife have five adult children, seven grandchildren, and enjoy spending as much time as possible with their family in the mountains and on the water.
JUSTIN MANNING
COO / CO-FOUNDER
Justin is also a Las Vegas native who began in the insurance industry in 1994. In 1999, Justin joined Mark Swarts; and, shortly after, he became a partner in the young company. Justin’s exceptional work ethic and dedication have served as reinforcement to the values that started the agency.
Because of his knowledge and expertise within the construction industry, Justin has been sought out by some of the largest, most-respected contractors within the state for assistance with their insurance programs. His commitment to serving his clients has been vital to the growth of Swarts, Manning & Associates.
Justin is the general manager of day-to-day operations for the company where he strives to instill the same values in his employees as those that have made him so successful. He also currently serves as a director for the Nevada Subcontractors Association and as a past Chairman for the Independent Insurance Agents of Nevada.
Justin loves to travel and does so as often as he can with his wife and children.
TIM SHANK
CRO / SHAREHOLDER
Since 2001, Tim has been building his risk management practice by establishing strong relationships within the business community. He has developed a network of underwriters, industry professionals, and strategic partnerships that enable him to consult clients on complex challenges and transformative initiatives. He has obtained the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) professional designations.
Tim is an expert advisor to several industries, including but not limited to Construction, Real Estate Development, Technology, Cannabis, Hospitality, and Product related risks. In addition to consulting clients, Tim also currently serves as the company’s CRO.
He spends most of his time in San Clemente, California where his home and office are located. He enjoys surfing, sailing, free diving, great food, and building memories with friends and family. One of his favorite travel destinations is Playa Saladita, Mexico, a small surfing and fishing pueblo outside of Zihuantanejo.
His greatest treasures are his wife Melynda, daughter Chanel, son Bryce. He has been known to speak in baby talk to family’s small dogs. One dog in particular, Pepper, has become somewhat of an office mascot.
DYLAN SWARTS
CFO / SHAREHOLDER
Dylan is a second generation insurance professional, joining the team with previous work experience in private equity, life science, and real estate development. He advises many different industries including Life Sciences, Technology, Real Estate Development, and Contractors. He is on the path to becoming an expert and top broker of cyber risks, surety bonds, and builder’s risk.
Dylan has an undergraduate degree in accounting from Utah Valley University, the largest university in Utah, where he was elected Student Body President and was also a voting member of the Board of Trustees, Foundation Board, Alumni Board, and President’s Council. After several years of working, Dylan took a hiatus from the insurance world to attend business school full time, receiving an MBA from the Marriott School of Business (Brigham Young University).
Dylan and his wife have 3 kids under 5. He considers himself a jack-of-all/master-of-none when it comes to hobbies. Some of his favorites include snowboarding, golfing, mountain biking, wake surfing, pickleball, guitar, building lego with his kids, DIY’ing, and fishing. He also makes a mean excel spreadsheet which rides a fine line between work and hobby.
JOEY MOTT
GENERAL COUNSEL / DIRECTOR OF RISK MANAGEMENT
Joey is a proud fourth generation Nevadan who has been involved with the insurance industry since 2010. After graduating from UNLV with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Joey attended the William S. Boyd School of Law where he served on the editorial board of the Nevada Law Review before graduating with his Juris Doctorate in 2011.
From 2010 to 2023, Joey represented insureds in insurance claims and coverage disputes, first as an associate attorney and most recently as a partner at one of Nevada’s top trial firms. During his time as a litigator, Joey represented clients ranging from individuals to multi-national corporations and received various awards and honors including being named a Mountain States Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2016 to 2023.
In January of 2023, Joey accepted the position of General Counsel/Director of Risk Management with Swarts Manning & Associates, allowing him to use his management and legal experience in a non-litigation setting. Joey brings a unique background and skillset to Swarts Manning & Associates which allows him to advise and counsel customers on insurance coverage and claims issues with an eye toward risk avoidance and legal compliance. Joey is licensed as an attorney in Nevada, Utah, and Arizona; and is a licensed insurance producer in Nevada.
Joey has extensive ties to the Las Vegas community, volunteering his time regularly with various charities and organizations. Joey currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Children’s Heart Foundation. Joey and his wife have three children and, when not working, Joey enjoys playing golf and hockey and spending time with his family and friends.
KEITH RUNYON
VP OF COMMERCIAL SALES
Keith brings a wealth of expertise and a track record of excellence to his role as Vice President of Commercial Sales. With over 35 years in the insurance industry, he has not only witnessed its evolution, but has actively shaped it through his leadership and strategic vision. Starting as an agency owner, Keith spent years nurturing and expanding his business. His tenure saw him successfully navigate through numerous mergers and acquisitions, a testament to his adaptability and strategic prowess. These experiences have equipped him with a unique perspective on the industry’s dynamics and challenges.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Keith was appointed a seat on the board of directors for a national agency organization, where he provided valuable insights that influenced industry practices. A top 5 producer among over 600 sales representatives, Keith’s commitment to excellence is evident in his consistent performance and the accolades he has received. Keith’s professional ethos is deeply rooted in a client-first approach. His dedication to client protection and service excellence has not only defined his career, but also established him as a trusted and reliable figure in the insurance sector.
Beyond his professional life, Keith treasures his family life, drawing strength and balance from his long-standing marriage, supportive sons and their families, and the joy of seven grandchildren. These aspects of his life highlight the importance he places on personal fulfillment alongside professional achievements.

Steve has been a commercial insurance agent and broker at Swarts, Manning & Associates since 2001. He has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years, with experience in underwriting, risk management, and sales.
With a comprehensive understanding of the risks faced by businesses, Steve is able to tailor risk management and insurance programs to address those exposures. Steve has received the prestigious professional designation, “Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and the “Associate of Risk Management” (ARM) degree. Steve is a graduate of UCLA.
JAKE WHITE
NEVADA – Commercial
Jake began his career in the insurance industry in 2013 and has proven the ability to provide clients with comprehensive solutions for their unique insurance needs. Dealing with large property portfolios, he has become a valuable resource for many property owners in Nevada. Jake is a member in multiple associations in the valley, so he can keep up with industry trends that will help his clients.
In his free time, Jake is spending time with his wife and little girl or out on the golf course or mountain bike with his friends.

As a native of Las Vegas, Brandon has built a reputation of excellence and knowledge in the insurance industry. With an extensive background in construction and business management he brings a very high value to business owners as a trusted advisor.
Brandon advises many industries including Transportation, Development, Distribution, Human Resources and Manufacturing with their insurance program management.
JOEL ALBERTO

Joel has a passion for helping businesses run more effectively and efficiently in order to globalize vision, maximize organizational success, and improve the quality of life for every employee. He is an expert in high hazard workers compensation accounts and the accompanying risk management programs.
Joel spent a number of years running a residential real estate and mortgage company before moving over to a segment of the insurance world in 2014. Working as a relationship manager for a PEO, he spent his time identifying new customers and providing services in addition to workers’ compensation coverage including strategic development, cultural alignment, human resources and risk mitigation best practices.
Though a displaced Texan, over the last two decades Joel has found a home in Orange County, California with his wife and four school aged kids.
BRYCE SHANK

After graduating from the University of Montana with a B.A. Degree in Environmental Studies, Bryce started his career in the environmental construction and manufacturing space, specializing in preventative and corrective health and safety actions that aligned with OSHA regulations and environmental efficiencies. He is now applying his education and work experience as a second-generation insurance and risk management professional. Some of Bryce’s practice is focused on the Environmental, Tech, Agriculture, Contracting, and Hospitality industries.
Surfing and skateboarding are big passions for Bryce along with spending time with family and friends.

Originally from the East Coast, Wendy has been in Las Vegas since 1996 and joined Swarts, Manning & Associates in 2005 to manage the Benefits Department. She has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial industries. Her knowledge and understanding of the group market provides our clients with creative, affordable solutions that work.
Outside of work, Wendy loves to spend time with her family and friends.
ALISON KASUFKIN

Originally from Chicago, Illinois Alison moved to Las Vegas in 2014. She has been in the insurance industry since 2012. Alison guides clients to make the best decisions for them and their employees. Her ambition and drive for clients makes her a successful asset.
In her free time, she enjoys everything Las Vegas has to offer as well as visiting family and friends back in Chicago.
